Have you ever wondered how be2 brings so many happy couples together? Well, now the secrets out, and our love searching heart is running around a television screen near you.

The be2 dating heart is our new mascot, fresh off the drawing board, and appears in a new TV commercial currently being screened. The running little heart is shown tirelessly searching out true romance for one of our customers, comparing interests and values, just like the system does in real life.

It’s a hard working heart: Watch our new advert and you can see our heart walking, our heart running as pigeons fly away, our heart with an iPad and even our heart riding on a scooter! – Clever little love searching heart!

Nobody likes a disappointed heart, that’s why we’ve made sure our advert has a happy ending! Sure enough our heart finds partnership and love for the two protagonists and ‘as the curtain falls’ they are walking heart to heart through the park. be2’s cute heart makes it happen!

Not just a dating heart it is also a whistling heart, humming out a catchy little tune that you can find more about in my previous blog post. We think it makes for a sweet advert that will bee too much for our customers to resist!

be2’s new dating commercial has hit the screens as we introduce our little heart to the nation. It’s a light hearted story of boy meets girl with the help of the hard working be2 heart and a few mac books. All accompanied by a gently whistled melody…..

But what is that tune? We wanted to create a commercial with a nice tune that would help people understand what be2 is all about. A dating commercial with nice music that conveyed a relaxed, cheerful service with a serious intent. When we first heard our be2 tune, we just loved it. It had all the right ingredients for a jingle on TV and we thought just suited our approach to bringing soul mates together.

So we had our nice music, but we still couldn’t decide how to present it. be2 is the online matchmaker for people serious about looking for long term love, but it’s also a place where people have a lot of fun. We needed a sound that reflected this. We tried all sorts of ideas, with singers and musicians, but nothing quite gave us the mood we needed. The last thing we wanted was for people to feel this was just another annoying jingle on TV from some dating company. Then it happened! George, our head of customer care, walked into the office on Monday morning, he’d been thinking about our problem all the way to work and he was still whistling the tune as he came in and sat at his desk. The rest of us just looked up at him and we all had the same thought at once….. and so be2’s whistling heart was born.

Whistling is about dreaming and distraction, but also about getting on with life with a cheery resilience. Just like be2’s heart whistles as it works as a busy matchmaker. Best of all, anybody can whistle, and we already know how catchy our new jingle can be. In fact sometimes it can bee too much as more and more staff get the bug and the whole office becomes a din of our whistling TV advertisement!

be2’s new mini dating TV commercial, featuring the new animated be2 heart, has been launched. If you haven’t seen it on TV yet, have a look here. It’s a light hearted TV commercial about dating with a Mac computer and a little help from be2.

The advertisement opens showing a girl with dog and computer, browsing. It’s morning in the city and there’s this girl, online, dating. Then things liven up when out pops the be2 heart to scuttle off and find our princess the man of her dreams.

Once the be2 heart is done chasing pigeons in the park, his first stop is the local café, where he spies a nice looking man, about the right age with a full head of hair, reading a comic. But our hopes are dashed as a blond lady shows up and gives him a big kiss.

… undeterred, the resilient little heart jumps aboard a passing moped and speeds off into town, hunting for more single men. It doesn’t take long before another candidate comes into view, this time in a nice car and with a dog of his own. It turns out they have a great be2 index too! Men and girl fitting 100% means they are a perfect match.

Job done, our little heart heads back home to point the girl to the right online profile. Next thing we know our two hopefuls are a dating couple walking by the lake with dogs. Another happy ending from be2!

It’s nice to see a few animals in a TV commercial about dating. A lot of people with dogs are online dating and we wanted our dating TV ad to reflect this. It’s also a nice way of conveying the b2 system that’s not just about the personality test but is also about shared hobbies and values.

If you follow be2 on twitter, you’ll know that last Friday, the new be2 TV spot was filmed. Our TV manager Linda was on the scene all day and now she’s sharing her behind-the-scenes pictures from the set of the be2 TV spot…

The first scene was shot in a trattoria, where the couple had a romantic dinner. Unfortunately, they were not actually allowed to eat the lovely food that was prepared. Imagine being told “look, don’t touch” when you’re sitting in front of a mouth-watering seafood dish for two hours

As the second scene was supposed to be filmed outdoors – in a park – everyone involved was anxiously watching the weather and hoping for sun, and sure enough: just in time for the second scene, the sun came out.

The couple then went for a picnic in the park and again wasn’t allowed to touch the food (life can be cruel )

This scene was a lot of fun for everyone – the great weather put everyone in a good mood and the couple laughed and joked around a lot during the picnic.

The final scene of the TV spot was shot in a studio where the girl talks about how important love is and that you can find it with be2 online matchmaking.

Linda, together with the production company, is now busy putting the final touches to the be2 TV spot, choosing the best moments from the different scenes, adding music and voiceover, etc.. Watch out for it  – coming soon to a small screen near you – you might recognise some of the scenes!
