Christmas Gift Calendar: Wants and Needs
The idea behind Wants for Sale and Needs for Sale is simple Two artists paint their wants and needs. Wants are paintings of things they would like to have. The paintings sell for the exact price of the thing they depict and with the money the artists go out and buy what they want. Needs are paintings of things they would like to donate to people in need. The originals are auctioned, the prints can be ordered online. The money then goes to a good cause that provides for the need depicted in the painting.
Last Christmas I gave the be2 team the picture you see on the right, which now takes place of pride in the be2 office. The sale price went to a charity that gives toys to children who would otherwise not receive any presents at Christmas.
The originals are usually hard to come by, but prints are cheaper and easy to order online. And if you’re worried they won’t be delivered in time for Christmas, just do as I did last year: the delivery was late, but I printed a „placeholder“ from the website until the original arrived.
Christmas Gift Calendar: Branding Iron

Perfect Christmas gift ideas and suggestions by the be2 team, daily December 1st – 24th 2009.
This is a pretty unusual Christmas gift suggestion. Maybe it’s not even suitable as a Christmas gift. Nevertheless, we were so fascinated by the concept behind the text branding iron and its relatively low price, we wanted to introduce it, Christmas or no Christmas.
The branding iron is small and shaped to fit on top of a standard lighter. You can order it with any text, for example your own name, company logo, or small slogan. When you use the lighter, it heats the text that sits above the flame and you can use it for branding objects made of wood, for example.
If the branding iron is a little too unusual for your liking, you might find something elsewhere in the shop. It specialises on personalised 3D printing, so you can have anything from cufflinks to napkin rings and Christmas decorations made to order, for example with the name of the person you need a gift for.

You probably know the problem: Grandparents love seeing pictures of their family and put them all over the house. When you were getting your rolls of film developed, you always used to get a few extra prints for them, but today you just don’t do that anymore. So the grandparents either don’t get to see your holiday snaps and the latest baby pictures or you try showing them a slideshow on your laptop screen, which doesn’t tend to be very popular with older people.
Now that digital picture frames have become so reasonable, you can simply get one as a Christmas gift, Read more
Christmas Gift Calendar: Christmas Cookies

Perfect Christmas gift ideas and suggestions by the be2 team, daily December 1st – 24th 2009.
Today our colleague Nico surprised us with these fantastic be2cookies.

Everyone loves cookies, but when they come in special shapes like this, they are extra-special. So our Christmas gift idea today is to give unusual christmas cookies. You could spell out a message or the name of the person receiving the gift with these ABC-cookie cutters, give a music fan an edible score, make the football fan in your life jump for joy or, if you prefer to keep things christmassy, give a bunch of christmas story shapes.

Christmas Gift Calendar: Personalised Wine
24 days, 24 Christmas gifts:
Perfect Christmas gift ideas and suggestions by the be2 team, daily December 1st – 24th 2009.
December is the time for wine, in all varieties. At Christmas parties we drink to a successful business year with a glass of bubbly, most homes serve wine with Christmas dinner and New Year’s Eve parties toast the new year with Champagne.
Wine may be a Christmas season essential, but that doesn’t automatically make it a desirable gift. If you are planning to give a bottle of wine as a Christmas gift, you should pay attention to two things: the contents, obviously, and the bottle itself.
You can make a special wine even more special with a personalised label. Barrels & Bottles, suppliers of fine wines, champagnes, gifts and personalised labels, offer this service on their website, where you can design your own labels and order a large variety of wines. Simply choose a Christmas design, upload a photograph and write your own personal Christmas greetings.
A personalised bottle of wine ticks all the boxes: it’s useful, personal, unique and affordable.
