If you are in a mood to stay at home, choose a few romantic movies, light candles and cuddle up in a warm blanket with your beloved. But remember: even if you are feeling cosy and warm, falling asleep in the middle of the movie is not the best idea.

For those who want to stay at home, but want to do something more active, you can spend time together decorating the Christmas tree and wrapping Christmas presents, making delicious Christmas cookies.
You can even prepare home-made punch for Christmas dinner. It will make your Christmas date warm and cosy.

And last, but not least… Does your date like chic and glamorous events? Then surprise your partner with a ticket to a Christmas ball, opera or a concert. Practice your dancing steps at home in order to avoid any incidents and bloopers on the dance floor.

The Chinese Moon Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, was celebrated at the be2 office last week. Our colleague Yun-Han invited us to join her for some traditional dessert: “moon cake” and “tanjuan” (rice balls with sesame or peanut filling in sweet soup). Doesn’t the moon cake look yummy?

The moon festival is one of the most important festivals in the Chinese lunar calendar. Chinese families get together to celebrate the Moon Festival, watch the full moon and eat moon cake. Couples in love also gaze at the foll moon together.

Much like Chinese Valentine’s Day, there’s a great story to go with it. There are many different versions of the story surrounding the moon goddess and how she ended up living on the moon, but they all end with the belief that you can see the moon goddess during the moon festival.

This summer love quote is a month late, but if you replace “June” with “July”, it still works perfectly. Summer is a time for romance…

1. Thailand A favourite with honeymooners, offering white beaches, turquoise water and fantastic food. A lot of luxury resorts specialising in romantic holidays have winter offers you can afford even if your boyfriend or girlfriend isn’t a big earner.
2. Florida If your romantic holiday involves kids (your own, your boyfriend’s, your girlfriend’s, who knows these days), the sunshine state offers plenty of distraction for the little ones while you enjoy the weather and maybe even some time alone…
3. Mexico In case you’re interested in something a little more exciting than long walks on the beach, Mexico offers mountains, volcanos, wildlife and culture, along with great nightlife.
4. Australia For a city trip in the sun, try Melbourne, Perth or Sidney. The beaches are never far away, either!
5. Kenya Feeling adventurous? Then go for an African safari. Unless your boyfriend or girlfriend is scared of wild animals, that is.
