Some laws are so strange and funny they make us scratch our head.

Especially when it comes to sex and relationships, you would think that what goes on in people’s bedrooms would be private and that the state doesn’t need to get involved in anything that happens between two consenting adults.

Well, think again, because as we discovered, if anyone has ever thought of doing it, there is probably a law regulating it!

Seriously, who comes up with these laws?

Especially when it comes to sex and relationships, countries all over the world seem to be having a contest: who can come up with the strangest, weirdest, most absurd laws?

You’ve probably never even heard of the majority of these funny 15 sex and relationship laws, so we put them all together in one handy infographic!

In Iowa, USA, it is against the law to kiss for more than five minutes.

In Saudi Arabia it is illegal to kiss a stranger.

Most Middle Eastern countries recognize the following Islamic law:
“After having sexual relations with a lamb, it is a mortal sin to eat its flesh.”

In Japan, if an older brother wishes to marry your girlfriend in the name of law and honor, both you and your girlfriend must agree.

In Turkey it is against the law to fall in love with a neighbors’ son, daughter, wife, servant or any of his animals.

The study we’re talking about doesn’t actually say that smart women have great sex, rather that women with a high emotional intelligence have more orgasms. But of course these results lend themselves to headlines like… well like Smart Women Have Great Sex, I guess

Or, as another article puts it: Bad luck bimbos: Intelligent women have better sex, which doesn’t exactly nail it either. The truth about the study is less spectacular, but it makes a lot of sense: women with a high emotional intelligence are more in touch with their feelings, so when it comes to sex, they know what they want, what they like and are able to articulate it. This leads to easier, more regular orgasms.

Of course, whether or not an orgasm in itself equals great sex is a different question altogether. Most women would probably not equate the two and argue that you can have great sex without an orgasm, while vice versa you can also have an orgasm although the sex isn’t that great.

What the study does tell us is something all women should keep in mind: your sex life benefits when you are in touch with your own needs and emotions. Most men would probably agree – because there is nothing sexier than a woman who is smart and knows what she wants!
